A Cottage Finish and a New Start
Here it is!!! My third finish of the year and second of the Cottages. Again, I have not added the month name, and have just filled that in with more hearts. I also shortened the topiaries in the sides of the house. I had to do that since I have brought the top down about 8 rows. I think it turned out cute.
Here is the start of March's Cottage. I am further along on it as of now, but I am going to frog the darker green, it is just too dark for my taste. Again, I am modifying this one as well. Hope to post another pic of it soon. Although I am extremely busy lately, these are going fairly quickly for my standards. I am skipping April for now and have May and June coming in the mail.
I have also come across a huge pile of craft buttons and have put them in the SHOP. Purples, pinks, greens, blues, reds, whites....These are great for a multitude of crafts, from cross stitch, to sewing, quilting, ornaments.... I have kept many for myself and the rest are up for sale for fantastic prices!!!!

Little Knots Spa Cloth Crochet Pattern
I also wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who has donated or bought patterns to support my Sister, my Brother in Law and the family. Every little bit has helped. They are so far away from home right now. My Brother in Law is making progress, but it is very, very slow so far.
Thank you for all your prayers as well. We are very hopeful.
Thanks for stopping by,

WIPocalypse Update
Well, it has been a very busy and exhausting month for me. I feel as if I have just been floating in space and not really here on solid ground. A few weeks ago, I pulled out Gathering Eggs from Mirabilia and stared at it. I have not had one stitch in it this month. I so wanted to start on her again, being so close to Easter, but life has just got in the way. Here she stands, with an extra row of stitches on the right hand side. I am not frogging a thing, but finishing her up in the forefront, then adding more stitches to the background. Hopefully it will work out in the end.
I have been crocheting a lot. I find that that activity takes up less mental capacity than cross stitching, so that's my go to activity. I am hoping to get some done on this little girl soon. I just love her bright colors. I think I need a little cheering up.

Support for My Sister and 50% Off Crochet Patterns
Hello everyone, I am
writing to ask a favor of you all. By no means do you have to, but I
thought, "It wouldn't hurt to ask."
Post from Friday March 23, 2012
I woke up this morning to find out that my Brother in Law has suffered a stroke. He was in South Carolina on a job, and his family is up here in Northern Maine. He is currently in the hospital struggling for his life, while my sister is getting ready for her plane trip down. He has two teenage daughters that are just beside themselves and just don't know what to do or to think. I am calling on you all to see if you could find it in your hearts to donate a dollar or two to help my sister with the costs of the trip. I have left a PayPal Donate button on my sidebar, if you would like to help. I never, ever thought I would ever ask this of anyone, and I certainly understand that you don't know me, and that you all have your own troubles and worries in life, but I just want to do what I can for my Sister and her family.
If you would like to help out in another way, you could post this link on your blog, facebook or twitter about my pattern sale, to help me advertise. www.rusticthreads.etsy.com.
Anyone who advertises my sale can contact me to find out how to get 75% off any one pattern in the shop as well.
Thanks so much.

Thank You
Patty was the winner of the finished object in my giveaway. This is the style of hat that she requested for her daughter. She was very pleased and I believe she is hinting on a Giveaway of her own. Patty is a very talented stitcher and crafter, and her designs are lovely. So don't waste any time, go on over and have a visit.
Thanks so much Patty.
Have a lovely day everyone.

January Cottage
Well, now look what you've done. It's a classic case of, everyone else is doing it, so why shouldn't I? I have broken down and ordered January and February Cottages from Country Cottage Needleworks, and have had a nice start these past few days on January. Now, I'm not too sure about actually stitching the month names, I might figure out a way to omit the names on these charts. I'd like to lower the top border a bit and perhaps add a couple extra motifs to each chart. Who knows if I'll get done a whole year, but this is proving to be a fun and quick stitch. Hope to have it finished for next post. I think I'll have to e-mail Vonna and get on the Cottages SAL blog as well,
Thanks for stopping by,
Hillery

WIPocalypse March Update~ I am Finished
Here she is. She should have been done a long time ago. I put the last couple stitches in her last night.
Jenny Bean Halloween Sampler
I did leave out some stitching in the border. I was finished, and no one but us will ever know. Shhh.
I did have a nice square frame around this house somewhere. I hope to find it and have it framed by August....Another 5 months of procrastination.
Have a happy day,
Hillery

New Toddler's Warm Slipper Pattern and Last Chance on the Giveaway
Well, the warm slipper pattern is in the last stages of testing and will be in the SHOP real soon. I just love how quick this pattern works up and they are WEARABLE!! I really wanted a bootie that would actually stay on the little ones feet. There are many great bootie pattern out there that are wearable, but I see so many that look cute, but just don't look as if they would actually stay on. These slippers require Super Bulky yarn, so they are so fast.
Well, I just finished my weekend working stint and am so glad for the beginning of the week, where I can spend lots of time at home, staying warm and cozy. Don't get me wrong, I do like working, but by the end of it all, my body is sore and I am ready for rest. My leg is also aching and I had a little pain last night, it feels like possibly a stress fracture in my bone. I am going to get some x-rays done this week. I'm afraid they will tell me I have to stop working for a while. That is definitely not what I want to hear.
GIVEAWAY ends in 2 days, so please leave your comments on THIS POST HERE, if you would like to be entered.
Thanks for stopping by,
Hillery

A New Downton Abbey Inspired Baby Toddler Hat~ and Don't Miss My Giveaway
I have been so inspired by Downton Abbey and it's beautiful costumes and scenery, and have seen so much of it over the internet on Blogs and Pinterest. I have stitched up this little shells hat, added a curved flipped visor and my Carnation flower. I am so pleased with how it turned out. I am making more as we speak. I just can't stop crocheting....don't you just hate that? Hee Hee.
Well I am back to work, part time, anyway. I am serving on the weekends, at Ruby Tuesday, and getting home around 11:30PM. I am so tired on the weekends, my body just aches every morning. I am just not used to it, but I am hoping I can lose a few pounds running around like I do. I think I have already lost a couple. It feels great to have a little more cash on hand though. Spring fever has hit me, even though we are still burying in snow. I have been searching the internet for new spring clothes for the girls and I, and feel that a can afford a few new things.
If you haven't already signed up for my GIVEAWAY, please do so. The more the merrier. You can post your comments HERE. I am still having a sale in the SHOP as well.
Thanks for stopping by. I do love your comments,
Hillery

Finally Got a Pretty Picture
It is so hard to get a good picture of my little girl. (Big sister, anyway). She is such a goofball when I take the camera out. I get so frustrated and dance around and act like a big goofball myself just to get her to smile. One out of a thousand I'd say. This is a newsboy hat that I whipped up. It has a slightly rouched top with little crochet buttons. I think it is so cute. I think I got the visor right too. Sometimes it's hard to make them look good. I added this hat to the shop and want to make some more colors.
I have a little slipper pattern in the works, I am just trying to iron out the sizing kinks. Hope to have that one tested soon.

Blackbird Designs Margaret Harris
Here is a WIP that I pulled out for the WIPocalypse challenge. I have not worked on this one for over a year. And although I did not officially sign up for IHSW, I did join you in spirit. I got quite a lot done Friday and Saturday night. I am please with what I managed to do. The story for this particular design is that I plan on modifying it and turning it into a Harvest/Halloween Sampler. Pumpkins, spiders, wheat or corn stalks and crows. The problem is, is that I haven't the time or energy or possibly even the talent to design something. I would like to do a little research and see if I can't emulate designs from other samplers. Hope you all had a productive weekend.

New Pattern Coming Soon to the Shop~Headband and Corsage
Here is a new pattern I've worked up for a headband and corsage/bracelet. Button Mum Headband and Corsage. I think it's adorable. The pattern is being tested right now, so I hope to have it ready for sale in a few days. I really need to get some pics of this on my model though. It's never the right time, or light, or mood ( the toddler's, not mine).

New Hat and WIPocalypse Update
First off, I just finished this hat today, and it has been a week in the making. Not really sure if a beaver is on the top of anyone's wish list, but he is cute. I am selling these in the shop and will hopefully write up the pattern when I have some time. I have another hat that is finished as well, but I still need some pics.
Next up is my progress or backward progress for my WIPocalypse challenge. I have taken out my Needlemaina 2, which is from The Sampler Life Yahoo group, and have had to frog the bottom left corner. I was off one stitch to the left. This is why it became a UFO in the first place. I have finally finished frogging the snowflake and plan on continuing on tonight in front of the TV watching Downton Abbey. I missed the first season, and I even missed the reruns last month...UGH. I found out about it last summer and can't wait to watch. I don't have Netflix, but my sister does, and I hope to get over there soon and start watching the first season. Here are the pics of my before and after frogging.

The first full moon post over a Measi's is tomorrow, so I am right on top of it. I'm excited to get more stitching done this year.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful Sunday Evening,
Hillery
