Finally Got a Pretty Picture
It is so hard to get a good picture of my little girl. (Big sister, anyway). She is such a goofball when I take the camera out. I get so frustrated and dance around and act like a big goofball myself just to get her to smile. One out of a thousand I'd say. This is a newsboy hat that I whipped up. It has a slightly rouched top with little crochet buttons. I think it is so cute. I think I got the visor right too. Sometimes it's hard to make them look good. I added this hat to the shop and want to make some more colors.
I have a little slipper pattern in the works, I am just trying to iron out the sizing kinks. Hope to have that one tested soon.

New Hat and WIPocalypse Update
First off, I just finished this hat today, and it has been a week in the making. Not really sure if a beaver is on the top of anyone's wish list, but he is cute. I am selling these in the shop and will hopefully write up the pattern when I have some time. I have another hat that is finished as well, but I still need some pics.
Next up is my progress or backward progress for my WIPocalypse challenge. I have taken out my Needlemaina 2, which is from The Sampler Life Yahoo group, and have had to frog the bottom left corner. I was off one stitch to the left. This is why it became a UFO in the first place. I have finally finished frogging the snowflake and plan on continuing on tonight in front of the TV watching Downton Abbey. I missed the first season, and I even missed the reruns last month...UGH. I found out about it last summer and can't wait to watch. I don't have Netflix, but my sister does, and I hope to get over there soon and start watching the first season. Here are the pics of my before and after frogging.

The first full moon post over a Measi's is tomorrow, so I am right on top of it. I'm excited to get more stitching done this year.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful Sunday Evening,

New Hat in the Shop
NEW IN THE SHOP
Well, I've still been crocheting away. I have finished 2 hat orders this week and have finished this design as well. I really, really like it. It is stitched with Vanna's Choice yarn, (one of my favorites for softness). I crocheted it with a slightly bunchy top, and finished it with a tassel. I used a soft color palette, and can't wait to try other colors. I love the little crocheted *button* embellishments. I wish I could crochet faster. There is so much I want to try. Right now my hand a wrist seem to be aching a bit. I probably should give them a rest. There was a blog post somewhere out there about hand and wrist exercises before and after crocheting. I think I'll go look that up.
Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by,

So it has been ages since I have posted, again. Life just has a way of catching up to you, and priorities must come first. I just wanted to pop in and show you a couple of things I have been whipping up. Aren't they just so cute? The first is a fantastic Bear Hat that I recently tested for this lady bowtykes, on Ravelry. I am so glad I tested this one, and the second is a stolen idea, from Etsy. Now I don't know if I can get in any trouble with this, but ideas can be stolen, can't they? So I basically looked at her hat and tried to copy it. I did do the hat in hdc where hers was sc, and my ears and nose are different. It's not an exact copy, but it is so close that you can definitely tell. Not selling this hat, so I don't think it really matters.
Been very busy making cowls, fingerless gloves and hats for many people on my list, and I have so much to do. I know you all are busy too. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
Have a Merry Christmas everyone,
Hillery

New Girls Slouchy Hat Pattern in the Shop
I have added the Girls Slouchy Hat Pattern to my Etsy Shop. It has been tested, and is ready to stitch up for your little ones. Comes in 3 sizes. 6-12 Months, 1-3 Years, and 4-8 Years. Increase the hook size for tweens. And it whips up in less than 2 hours. I love how versatile this hat is. You can have it a little slouchy or a lot slouchy. Looks great in stripes too.

Chunky Cluster Stitch Beanie and Ribbed Beanie
I have researched and found some free patterns like this, although slightly different..... Can I go ahead and sell this pattern as my own, if I know that I have not copied exactly anything that I've seen, and that I can truthfully say that I just created this and perfected it myself? I have designed it so it will fit up to 5 sizes, using a thicker yarn. What are your thoughts? I think I know what you are going to say, that is the reason I am posting this. I know that I can freely sell the products I make from the hat, and be at ease about it.
There is so much on the internet that can inspire you, It's hard not to come up with something that is already out there. How can you not make it unique enough? It's a hard topic I think. That being said, I am working on another project that is very similar to others out there, but I think I have put a unique twist on it. Hopefully unique enough. I will share that soon, and hopefully get some feedback.

I'm Officially Obsessed

I have been hooking, and hooking, and hooking. I am obsessed with these hats. They whip up in less than 2 hours, if I'm working on them continuously, which never happens. I have been playing with lots of stripey color, and I love how they look. I am having the hardest time with my models. They just never sit still for a second. It takes me 20 minutes to get just one good shot in a hundred. My littlest one won't keep hers on for more than 2 minutes. Of course it's hot outside, and who wants to wear a woolie in the blaring sun. I'll be working on more picture taking today. Wish me luck.
On the stitchy front, I have had more progress on Jenny Bean. I will post a pic of that one soon.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

New Hat on Etsy!!

I've finally got my new design and a few pictures, and have posted them in my Etsy Shop. I have worked very hard on designing and getting the sizes right for this hat. It is a slightly slouchy style, and can be worn in all seasons. I just love it, and my baby and my nieces are such cute models.
